Proudly Announcing Our Newest and Youngest Advisory Board Member, Madeline Backus

We are very proud to welcome event rider Madeline Backus of Larkspur, Colorado, to serve on our ever growing Advisory Board. We rely on competitive riders such as Backus to represent our company and stand behind our full line of products.

Madeline, age fifteen, is the youngest member of the Draper Equine Therapy Advisory Board.  She has been Eventing since she was seven and has shown all over the United States, competing through the CCI* level with her Trakehner mare, PS Arianna (Ari). In 2011 she competed at the North American Junior/Young Riders Championship finishing a very respectful 9th place overall. In 2010, Ari was Area IX’s Preliminary Horse of the Year and together they won first IP event. Madeline also worked diligently with P.S. American Girl, who had never Evented previously. In 2008, the pair ended up Reserve Champion at the American Eventing Championships and 2nd overall on the USEA National Leaderboard at Junior Training. Madeline also manages to keep excellent grades while staying actively involved with her local Pony Club and musical interests. “I really am looking forward to climbing the ladder in Eventing and know the Draper products will be instrumental in keeping my horses and me in top form no matter what I’m doing,” said Madeline.

Having Madeline on board  offers us a youthful approach that will be extremely beneficial to all of us here at Draper. Madeline presented herself with the utmost professionalism and even at her age, distinguished herself far above what you’d ever imagine. Members of our Advisory Board come to us with the basic belief that the Draper products are truly special and stand behind our Draper Dogma which is the basis of who Draper Therapies is. It’s not a sponsorship. It’s a community to bridge long term connections through dedication of honest communication and expertise. We look forward to operating without agendas, focusing on becoming better people and growing through our combined expertise. Madeline will really be an asset to us when it comes to a fresh perspective for future generations.

Madeline uses many Draper products on her horses and her favorites so far are the Recovery Wraps, Stable Sheet and Hock Boots. “My horse absolutely loves her Draper Therapies products. She wears her stable sheet as much as possible and seems so relaxed whenever she as it on. The Recovery Wraps seem to make Ari very happy and extremely comfortable, keeping her legs tight and pain free. With any other pillow wraps, she will sometimes fiddle with them overnight, but I have noticed that she doesn’t do that with the Draper Recovery Wraps.”

When it comes to Madeline herself, she believes the Draper Body Therapy products speak wonders, “Sometimes we drive for up to four days at a time for competitions. I have used the Draper products to sit on during these long trips and they really improve my comfort while on the road.”
